Dark rum distilled from fermented molasses. A blend of rums aged from 2 to 12 years old in used American bourbon barrels.

Originally a blend of rums sold by Edward Young & Co. in London & Liverpool in 1797, today Old Sam is blended and bottled by the Newfoundland Liquor Corporation from Demerara Rum from Guyana.
